The Davis Cup is the premier international team event in men’s tennis. It is run by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and is contested annually between teams from competing countries in a knock-out format. The competition began in 1900 as a challenge between Great Britain and the United States. In 2015, 126 nations have entered Davis Cup by BNP Paribas, making it the world’s largest annual international team competition in sport.
Davis Cup is structured with a 16-nation World Group, contested over four weekends during the year. The remaining countries are then divided into three regional Zones depending on their location.
At Terrace Downs Resort we believe in everyday decisions that encourage wellness and support long term health. For this reason we are delighted to be able to offer tennis courts, rugby, soccer fields and walking tracks alongside our award winning golf course. A part of encouraging these everyday health decisions is to sponsor teams and individuals involved in these sports, which now includes the David Cup Tennis Team. We are excited to be a part of their progress and are looking forward to hosting them in the summer for some coaching days with our local community. We wish them all the very best for the season.
