Heli-Taxi to Mt Hutt, back for another season!
Back by popular demand for the 2010 winter season the best option for stylish, swift and enlivening transport to and from the mountain. Terrace Downs is excited to offer the famous Mt Hutt Heli “Park & Ride” Heli-Taxi option from the Resort to Mt Hutt Ski Area, enabling both in-house and casual guests to travel in absolute comfort, safety and luxury and completing any winter holiday experience.
The stunning seven minute scenic flight departs from the Terrace Downs Clubhouse and rises above the picturesque championship 18-hole golf course. Only while in the air can guests appreciate the scale of the stunning Terrace Downs property and the work that has gone into calving a multimillion dollar golf course out of acres of scrub covered farm land. Rising high above the Rakaia River guests are exposed to spectacular views of the impressive Rakaia Gorge, extensive Canterbury Plains and out to the magnificent Lake Coleridge. Approaching the Southern Alps, passengers will ascend over the northern ridge line, where snow capped peaks, jagged cliffs and access road traffic sit just meters from their feet. And of course all heads will turn as the helicopter lands at the ski field!
The service costs only $85.00* per person and will operate from the start of the ski season in June through to October with first flights departing Terrace Downs daily* from 8.30am and returning from 3.15pm.
Mt Hutt Helicopters has a new addition and can now offer guests the comfort and space of the Squirrel AS350 which can take 6 passengers and will be fitted with a ski pod to carry all gear.
*$85 per person one way ($170 return) based on a full load. All flights are subject to weather conditions.
