Employment at Terrace Downs

As a 550-acre getaway destination featuring two restaurants, accommodation for up to 250 guests, one of New Zealand's best golf courses and a range of other activities, Terrace Downs currently employs about 60 full time staff. This includes a number of departments - chefs and restaurant staff, Clubhouse cleaners and housekeeping staff, greenkeepers and landscape labourers, activity and golf operators and administrators, maintenance staff, courier and porter drivers, administration and management. The majority of staff are local. About half live in Methven Mt Hutt village, with the other scattered between Whitecliffs, Glentunnel, Coalgate, Hororata, West Melton and Templeton. Needless to say, team work and good communication is essential in the running of the resort and a good social calendar ensures that staff from various teams have ample opportunity to meet each other and mingle.

Working at Terrace Downs and living in one of the local communities nearby is an authentic New Zealand experience. Out of work times, the area is a playground for residents offering skiing, fishing, jet boating, strong communities with numerous clubs and events, great schools and more than one good country pub. CURRENT JOB VACANCIES

1. CHEF DE PARTIE
 
We are looking to employ an experienced Chef de Partie to join our professional team.

You will have previous experience in a fine dining environment with a focus on modern New Zealand cuisine.

The Resort, in return, will offer the successful candidate an attractive remuneration package and the opportunity to be part of a world class resort that is going places! Preference will be given to New Zealand Residents.

2. PART TIME ACTIVITY OPERATOR

We are seeking a fun and energetic person to look after the resort activities (clay pigeon shooting, archery, etc) during the busy summer months. The position will be casual part time and will require someone who is flexible and has their own transport. Experience with customer service is preferred and a gun licence is essential.
